Situation
Rio Tinto’s existing crusher chiller units have reached the end of their service life and require replacement. This project will
replace the current chiller units without disruption to production targets and increase the overall reliability of the crushing circuit by improving the performance of the installed systems and allowing for offline repair and servicing to the new nits without disrupting production.
Solution
Aerison was engaged as the primary contractor to deliver the engineering and design, supply, installation, and commissioning works of the new chiller units and pipework to accept the new equipment.
The scope included:
- Design& Supply Mechanical, Piping and E&I interface and tie in, civil infrastructure and also load rated temporary installation structures required for the chiller units.
- Supply 5off new chiller units required in two delivery stages, Initial delivery of 2off units and final delivery of 3off units
- Project Management of the removal, preparation, installation, commissioning and handover of the replacement chiller units
- Provision of all equipment, consumables, materials, labour, tooling, cranage & on-Site management required to complete the replacement.
