Situation
Aerison have been engaged by Calibre on behalf of Rio Tinto Iron Ore to assist in the completion of the Robe Valley Sustaining Project. Aerison have been engaged to complete the SMP and E&I aspects of the works, working hand-in-hand with UGL and Civmec.
As part of the project, we are working collaboratively with Rio Tinto, UGL and Civmec, ensuring optimal productivity to modify their existing primary crushing facility to incorporate secondary crushing options into the process.
Currently we have an average of approx. 65 Aerison workforce and staff. The Aerison job front is broken into 3 sections with supervisors allocated to each section – Conveyors, Secondary Sizer & Stacker.
Solution
Interface between Aerison / UGL / Civmec is working well with supervisors running job fronts with multiple staff made up of the three companies.
Management is now being run collectively with SMP & E&I Superintendents working back-to-back and Construction
Managers doing the same for coverage (Aerison CM controlling UGL SMP Super & Aerison E&I one swing, UGL CM controlling Aerison SMP & UGL E&I).
Priority works are the CV2101 & CV2201 belt pulls (Fenner), which are set for 8th June 2022. The Secondary Sizer building and associated mechanical equipment are now installed, ready for energisation.
The final outcome of The Robe Valley Sustaining Project will be dependent on the shutdown success and punch listing upon completion. The final tie-in shutdown is currently scheduled for 31st of July – 21st August 2022.
