Situation

To ensure the Port complies with ambient air quality standards and occupational dust and noise exposure standards, Southern Ports Authority needed to upgrade the dust extraction system at the Port of Bunbury.

Solution

Aerison was engaged as the primary contractor to deliver the engineering and design, structural, electrical, installation, and commissioning works.


Scope:

  • Manufacture, supply, install and commission seven (7) dust collection bag-houses, fans, clean air duct and discharges
    including silencers, modify dirty air ducting, modify compressed air supply, structural steel, stairs and access platforms, duct support structures and dust disposal.
  • Design, supply, install and commission electrical power supply, lighting and instrumentation to seven (7) dust collection systems.
  • Design, supply and install new civil foundations.
  • Design, supply and install full electrical and control equipment.

Project highlights:

  • Noncritical installation works conducted during port operations with minimal disruption to port activities.
  • Structural steel and baghouses pre-assembled to reduce site installation time.

Outcome

  • Critical installation works conducted during designated Port shutdowns were engaged smoothly without disruption to the general shutdown maintenance requirements.
  • All works were completed to schedule and budget.
  • The Port facilities now meets the current environment requirements.
